Not sure why this place doesn't have 5 full stars? Everyyyyyyyyyytime i go to this place its just a great time, the food is ALWAYS so very good to me, I can't help but talk about this place to my Chicago friends, def one of the best spots to go to when in Bonita Springs/ Naples (yes, i'll make that drive) Service is OK, but food is so yum that i could care less, as long as i am eating! :) Overall, great spot! And if you're lucky, you might witness the dolphins swimming by like i did! (for da free!)

First of all....3 people in our party, 3 entrees, 1 appetizer, 1 diet soda, 2 waters was $75, so this is a $$$ restaurant, not a $$. The grilled grouper they brought me was tough and obviously had been sitting around a while. The fried grouper replacement was no better....hard to cut with a fork! Service was fine, but their kitchen obviously has low quality standards and little supervision. We had high hopes because we love to support Mom and Pop places. Sorry to say, we won't go back......

Love this nice and casual fish place on the water! Sat out on the deck on a hot day, enjoyed some peel and eat shrimp, fish tacos! Very friendly staff! Didn't have the lobster mac and cheese, but it looked amazing!

Local seafood restaurant. They also have a seafood market. Thankfully they are separate. Indoor seating and bar, outdoor covered and uncovered seating right along the water (canal). The food is good not great. They do make their own food so it's not frozen out of a box kind of food. Fresh fish, shrimp from the gulf.

Delicious food, awesome "seaside" ambience. Friendly attentive waiter and the manager came around to see how we were doing. Heard several greetings from waitresses welcoming regulars which is a good sign. I like finding out of the way local places. I had grouper sandwich and piece of key lime pie. All was delicious and very generous!

Got here at around 4:15. Some confusion getting seated but we finally got seated right on the water. Beautiful view and atmosphere. You can see all sorts of fish swimming around. Ordered the blackened tuna appetizer raw and also an order of the bam bam shrimp. Bam bam shrimp were awesome! Good sized shrimp with a kick. The tuna was definitely not rare like we had asked but was still tasty. Our waitress didn't come back for about 15 minutes and we put in our food order. I got the blackened mahi which was excellent! Had to wait quite a while to get refill on my drink though.. The spaghetti squash was over cooked and mainly just drenched in butter. Overall, if you're coming for a piece of fish in a cool atmosphere, do it! But don't expect the best service.. And stick to getting fish. Probably won't be back.

The group of 3 of each ordered various seafood options. Blackened Mahi Maui was light and flakey, well seasoned. Shashimi ahi tuna came with rice cakes and seaweed salad. It was really good too. The broiled stufed shrimp was also a great choice. Drinks were strong and worth the money. They key lime pie was better than average. A solid 4 stars. Great casual atmosphere on the channel.

Enjoyed a couple happy hour appetizers and drinks and some key lime pie. Food was very good and service excellent. We will definitely return.

After leaving a review about this restaurant I was verbally attacked in a private message from the owners of this establishment. Run!

Why you should not come here, let me count the ways. 1.Service lousy. 2.Steamed clams that would not have been so bad if their wasn't chopped jarred garlic all over them. But, because it came with melted butter, I was able to wash each clam. 3. The crunchy grouper reuben. There is no crunch. The batter was pasty and tough. Like a plaster of Paris cast drying on a broken limb. I had to search for the Swiss cheese. The amount of coleslaw on the sandwich you would be able to measure in a teaspoon. The 1000 island dressing was hardly present. So, I asked if I could have a little more coleslaw for the sandwich. I did get it, and it was good. But when I looked at the bill, I was charged $1.99 for the extra coleslaw that should have been on the sandwich to begin with. P.S., The sweet potato fries were great. 4. Cesar salad with grouper in one word FLAT. 5. Bam Bam shrimp and hot blue crab and shrimp dip. I did not have it, but my friend said they were both Blah. Oh, please if you do come, do yourself a favor and eat inside. The flies are a big pain in the neck. The best thing was the guy singing and playing the guitar. He was really very good. The only talent on the premises.

Reasons why this place is great. Nice water views, pet friendly. Outside seating w shade and fan. Great service. Yummy food and an out of this world frozen margarita violet mango drink. We ordered bacon wrapped scallops and chicken Alfredo served on cute fishy decorated plates. Everything we had was so good, and we totally felt like we were on vacation. This place is so relaxing I couldn't stop smiling. I definitely will be back when I am in the area.

Pretty good food, I was surprised it was not overly salty given the median age in the area ;) Selection was great as well, I hesitated a few times.

I underestimated this unassuming seafood shack--this was one of the first places I went after getting off a plane from New York, and before I left my New York snobbishness behind, my parents dragged me in here, gritting teeth and all, thinking, why are we here and not Miami? I never had fish like this in Miami (or New York). So blackened. So good. They had me at sprouted brown rice, non-GMO, GABA--hell, yes, bring me more grouper tacos and GABA. I'm happy my parents are retiring here--bring on the blackened grouper GABA! We tried the one on Sanibel and it just didn't compare--this one is the real deal. The cole slaw is also amazing, as is the smoked fish dip.

Not good. Not good at all. The concierge at the hotel recommended the Fish House to my wife and I. We were excited yet nervous because of some of the other reviews. Should have listened to the reviews and stayed far away. Let's begin. We were handed the nightly special menu. We ordered the special. They were out of the special so back the drawing board. The waiter recommended some dip that was unusually liquidity, very odd. I had the lobster basket, which could have been cod, scrod, or anything but lobster. My wife had shrimp stuffed with butter. If u check in with Yelp u get a free slice a pie. They were out of pie and gave us cheese cake. Thing is do not like cheese cake. Meal was 70 bucks with tip and def not worth it. The waiter was nice. Tourists, visitors, friend and family. Stay away.

2.5 stars if I had a choice. Service was lacking here. We ordered drinks and took 5 min to get them and another wait for an alcohol drinks. apps were ordered and our dinner order was taken after the apps came out. We think she cooked or apps. Bam bam shrimp were great but tuna bites, ordered rare, were well done. I got grouper blackened and it was nice, rice side bla but good fries. Wife got shrimp veggie spaghetti and it mushy w no spice or flavor. Cooked in butter. 2 other guests both had mahi mahi was perfect one w veggie sweet potatoe and other with bla rice beans but good fries. Great for happy hour and cheap happy hr apps but won't return for dinner.

A great local place. Food is very good and priced affordably. A great place to take visitors and your local friends as well. Nice inside and outside seating by the water. Their grouper Mahi Mahi sand which is delicious. Try it with some home made sweet potato fries and a delicious slice of Florida key lime pie for dessert

  • Elaine V.

I have no complaints. Food was good, our server Amber was new but very good, prices good for water front. Not sure why all the complaints? Some people rated this bad because of the service. Maybe they've corrected that maybe we got lucky? Maybe people complain to complain. All I know is it was very enjoyable and I have no complaints.

  • Nancy J.

The coconut shrimp was great, crab cake very fresh and tuna bites cooked perectly. Loved the key lime pie and it was free with great service. Will be back for happy hour!!

  • Maria T.

Bad costumer service, the middle of summer they wouldn't put the umbrellas up because of the slight wind. Don't recommend the place if you're not feeling the sun.

  • Joyce J.

Went a few days ago. Service was horrible...it took two hours from getting seated to getting our check. What has happened to this place? Our waitress was upset with her tables and gave us poor service. Food was average at best.

  • Jennifer H.

UPDATE! Still really enjoy this dive. While the food is decent, it's sitting out by the water that makes this place such an wonderful place to have dinner. We went with the kids and they loved that, even though it was evening, they could feed the crazy catfish hanging out by the peer. There were easily 50 flopping around. So come for the dive, enjoy the atmosphere.

  • David C.

Very casual place with a perfect location near the beach. The service is wonderful, the food comes out fast and hot, and the food is DELICIOUS. The desserts are great too. Just a great place overall whether you're coming from the beach or just want some amazing food.

  • Vaughn G.

Flat out delicious seafood with water view ambiance for young and old. The flash fried shrimp are a 10 out of 10 along with the fries! If you need a place to just chilllax and enjoy the day don't miss this place... it's well worth it!

    (5)
  • Kiley T.

You know those places that can overcharge you and the staff are sometimes rude but you keep going back because the oysters, stuffed jalepeno shrimp, coconut shrimp, conch chowder, and lobster roll are amazing? That's the fish house! It's like a bad relationship. You don't want to go back but you will...you always will bc it's just good!!!

  • Jason L.

Good place for a drink and an appetizer had drinks and steamed clams. Enjoyable place to sit outside and enjoy the sunny. Server was switching shifts asked us to settle up before we were ready.

    (3)
  • Jessie H.

We came here for dinner a few weeks ago to sit by the water. We ordered the stuffed shrimp, and fish and chips. The stuffed shrimp were frozen and there was so much ice that melted off it when they cooked it, it dissolved my stuffing. The frozen fish and chips looked the same as my entrée, saaad! When I pulled the manager over to let him see me pour my brown water off my shrimp, he quickly took care of the bill. Stay away if you want FRESH seafood!!

  • Laura R.

Ate lunch here with our family. We were NOT disappointed! The view is serene and lovely on the water. The grouper Reuben was DELICIOUS! The Ahi Tuna melt, also yummy. The Lobster Mac-n-cheese app we ordered got our 5 year old, and it was all gone! The sweet potato fries are fresh, some of the best we've had. Good cold drinks for happy hour, and the staff is happy and helpful. Totally recommend this unexpected gem!

  • Heather G.

Causal place. Tons of options for sea food. Corn shrimp chowder was perfection. I will have to return to try more.

    (4)
  • Lynn T.

Very disappointed. Place is always mobbed "in season". Don't know why. It was mediocre at best. Fish and chips had zero flavor and was rubbery. Suspect it was frozen. Also, didn't really feel the place was clean. It smelled and everything felt sticky, but maybe that's b/c it's near water. Save your money and go somewhere else.

  • Laurie P.

Fabulous meal. Great happy hour. Peel and eat shrimp were great. Skip the clams. Jerk spiced grouper was good. Garlic shrimp and linguine was delicious. Victor the waiter rocks. Highly recommended!

    (5)
  • Courtney K.

Good food. Better setting! Great place to eat outside or have a drink. I like the salads and the shrimp burgers. I think they only offer the shrimp burgers in off season but I may be mistaken. They also have boat access which is a plus for all of you boaters out there.

    (3)
  • Elizabeth P.

Best meal I have had all week!! You must eat here. Fried oysters. Ahi Tuna is the best!!! I make sure I eat here 3 of the 5 nights I am in town. Great drink prices and beautiful view!

  • Tori G.

Hard to park here it's small. But the food here is good is say worth the price. The servers are I top of their game. The few times I've been the service has been perfect. The crab cake is yummy. My fiancé got the hot wings and he devoured them. Between 4/5 stars idk. I'd give them 4. If they ran out of business I wouldn't get all bent out of shape over it.

  • Susan C.

I'm only giving this place two stars because of the location. Otherwise, I would give it a zero. Our waitress had zero personality, when we asked her about the preparations of the fresh grouper her reply was, well I like it blackened. When I asked about the other ways-again she said I like it blackened. Ok I get it. I ordered it grilled. That's how I like it. So the food comes, of course delivered by someone else, and my daughter needed some sauce for her chicken tenders. We couldn't get the attention of our server, or anyone else until she was almost done. Meantime, my grouper was way over cooked- come on with a name like the fish house you would think they would know how to grill fish-our drinks were empty and our waitress had never stopped by our table to check on us. We finally flagged down a busser who brought the sauce at the end of the meal. Super. And then our waitress asked if we were ready for the check! You bet we were.

Food was delicious! Love a sustainable restaurant... Read the back of the menu folks, quality counts.

    (5)
  • Amy J.

Great happy hour prices. Fish dip was average, potato skins very good. $2.50 happy hour beer with the view is worth it! Service was poor considering we were the only ones there but I would come back for happy hour.

    (4)
  • Kim F.

A very casual place with good food. At first we were afraid they only would have fried food but they do have entrees that aren't fried. The clam chowder is delectable here. If you're a fan of beer battered French fries, you have to order a basket of fries here. The seafood marina was also great, it had scallops and shrimp in it. Friendly staff and the place is always busy, definitely worth a visit.

    (4)
  • J G.

Always a busy spot with decent food but a bit pricey for what you get. Options to dine outside, inside or in the screened in porch.

  • Kasey O.

Ehh. A 3 star, maybe 2.75. The fish is excellent. Can't complain about that too much. But that's all you should expect. Good fish, and good French fries/sweet potato fries. Do not order vegetables as a side under any circumstances, they have zero flavor. And rice and beans were just okay. We ordered tuna, rare, for an appetizer, it was medium well to well done. Flavoring on the tuna was good, though. The Mahi Mahi on my plate was delicious, but sides were just okay. Service was pretty terrible. We saw her for drinks, then not again for 5 minutes (we ordered waters). Then ordered appetizers and didn't see her again until they were brought out, so we had to wait until then to order our food. Someone else brought our food, and we had to ask someone to get her so we could get the check. It's a cute place to eat on the water and very casual with good fish, but not-so-good everything else. Probably won't go back, but you'll get a good piece of fish if you go.

Had to say we were a bit disappointed in our October visit to the Fish House, having been enthusiastic patrons in the past. My husband ordered the pan seared tuna melt but requested provolone instead of Swiss. Given that provolone is on the menu for the chicken BLT, we thought it was an easy swap. Our server could not have been nicer. He submitted the order to the kitchen but, when it came out, it was not provolone. He apologized profusely, took the dish back to the kitchen, and then returned, explaining one cook said it could be redone and the other refused. He asked my husband if he would accept it as is, my husband refused as he does not eat Swiss cheese. Again, the poor server apologized but I reminded him that this was absolutely not his fault and that it represented a larger issue - that of power in the kitchen and management. Less than satisfactory experience, however, tipped the waiter well. On a previous visit, I ordered the ahi sandwich, without the bread and substituted sweet potato fries, which I knew there would be an upcharge. I also ordered a side of seaweed salad. By the time they added on everything, the cost was at $18. I explained that I could have gotten the ahi tuna loin appetizer (same size piece of tuna as I've had it there before) with the seaweed salad and a jasmine rice cake for much less. I wasn't trying to nickel and dime the cost but rather to show that their cost rationale was off base. They did reduce the price; even the server told me the place is too expensive. Thank God she's honest. I tipped her well! I think we'll go to Coconut Jack's next visit!

One of our favorite stops when we visit Bonita Beach! Great grouper, whether you have it fried, grilled or blackened. Enjoyed the casual ambiance of a fish shack. Service was good for the beginning of "season".

    (5)
  • Sarah G.

Just OK. Not impressed, I had the Mahi Tacos and I can't remember what the rest of the family had.

    (3)
  • Donna B.

Live here, been here previously. That said, service was terrible. Waited over 20 min for cocktail after husband was served his Shock Top. Waited another 15 for the app, hot crab and shrimp. Just OK. Why do restaurants still serve red tortila chips loaded with red dye? Fried fish sandwich w/ cod was very good. Waitress never came by to ask if we needed anything. Saw her 30 min later. Do not sit outside near adjoining building in the next few weeks...bugs everywhere and the AC unit very annoying. Dont think we will be returning after this visit.

    (3)
  • Lisa U.

Good chowder. Ordered and enjoyed the coconut shrimp and grouper baskets, but the service was terrible. Only go if you have patience and no where else to be that night.

    (3)
  • Sue W.

Worst calamari ever. Tough as nails. Bland sauce. The crab cake was ok and the fish sandwich too. Paper plates and baskets. Our table is crooked by at least three. Inches. We now have wads of towels under one side and still can't rest your elbows or use a knife to cut food. This our first time this year. I think I remember why. It is on the water but it can be very hot. The channel is narrow and of houses. The prices are comparable to places with nice tables and chairs and stylish plates. There are better choices for fish or views or happy hour.

    (1)
  • Sandy R.

Not a fish person, but went with friends who enjoy fishy food. Not much of a selection for us non-fish lovers. Ended up with a Caesar salad; nothing to write home about. Pina Colada was excellent.

  • Donna H.

Went here for fresh fish because of reviews...5 of us for lunch on 3/9/2014, seated immediately, ordered drinks quickly. Waited quite awhile to get them. We ordered food and waited 55 minutes! Next table came probably 15 minutes after us, and was almost done eating when our food arrived. Lobster Mac and cheese appetizer runny and fishy! 2 of us ordered Grilled Mahi-mahi sandwiches, all u could taste was SALT! Others ordered chicken tenders, fish tacos and atlantic cod sandwich, ok..at best! Both kinds if fries were ok. Bill was $83. Certainly not worth it. Service mediocre at best, won't go back

This place is always on our list to visit when we come to the Naples area. The menu is extensive and the quality is pretty good. Service is always friendly and they are pretty accommodating to kids as well (crayons, activity menu and kids meals served in a frisbee). Prices are high, but in line with the area. We love sitting outside right on the water or on the screened-in back area. The fried shrimp, fried fish, blackened fish are all really good.

Fun place to go on your boat or in the car. The rum runners are great and so are the peel and eat shrimp. Live music on the weekends is fun!

Fish House is like a fish out of water. Poor little dive has to be on busy Bonita Beach Road kind of all by itself. It's a place that you would more likely find down on Ft Myers Beach. But it looks like the same bathing suit wearing, beer-drinkin' happy patrons made their way here anyhow.. You'll find cheap beer, baskets of bar food, a funky narrow bar inside, an old fashioned screen porch where tables sit on concrete, and a dog-friendly outdoor patio with umbrellaed tables. The property sits on the estuary, not far from the Gulf. Boaters who cruise the mangroves can tie up here if they come in to eat. Waitservice is friendly and brisk. Valet parking makes it easy at the front door, or drive to the empty lot just east of the restaurant and self park. I sat a little too close to the smokers on the outdoor patio. You just have to tough it up, or move your seat if you don't like that. Florida finally got around to banning smoking in 2003 in any "enclosed workplace." But it exempted bars. Of course, any outdoor dining experience will be at your own risk, too. It's certainly not the Fish House's fault that a customer might share a toxic cloud with the slow-suiciders at the next table.. End of anti-smoking rant. The food: I had coconut shrimp - about 8 or them - along with fried-til-they-give -up-and-go-limp sweet potato fries. A small diixie cup with tart, freshly chopped coleslaw coimpletes the basket for $14.95. Very good.

Place was banging busy on a Saturday for lunch but with the 15 minute wait. Need to work on their cleanliness standards, silverware had remnants of some one else's meal dried on the handle of my silverware. Based on front of the house cleanliness I could only guess what back of the house looks like. I get that it's a "fish house" but no reason not to be clean. Alcohol beverage service very slow to start, never a good thing. Service overall was attentive and efficient. Food quality good, my grouper Reuben was exceptional and had the rest of the table wishing they got what I got, yes, I shared a bite or two. Definitely a great seat waterside with canoes, paddle boarders and a few boats passed by on the water. Will definitely be back even with the cleanliness concerns.

    (3)
  • Maria M.

This was our first time there, on vacation with the family. The fish was overcooked and smelled fishy. I ordered a mai tai, one of their specialty drinks, and it was watered down. The waitress was not friendly and dry. I don't recommend this restaurant.

    (1)
  • Katherine W.

The Fish House is one of my favorite places in the area! A beautiful view and a fun atmosphere! The blackened fish tacos are my favorite! We like to sit outside on the water because we can bring our dog and enjoy the sunshine. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five, is that the service can be hit and miss. We've had great friendly servers as well as indifferent slower ones.

    (4)
  • Kim C.

Ugh - food was actually pretty decent but omg the service was horrible. This place is used to high volume and doesn't really care how they treat people. The staff was cleaning up well before closing time and the message was pretty clear all they cared about was getting out. Listening to one of the managers berate a wait staff about the fact that customers objected to their food and bill within full earshot of everyone not ok. Would not go back under any circumstances -- and this was a Monday, not even a weekend

Excellent food. Good service. I had grilled fish tacos, my wife had shrimp and crab caesedillas. Both were excellent. We'll be back.

  • Nanette W.

We ate here tonight. They have out door seating which is very nice. The service was ok. We had the crab and shrimp dip which was ok. I ordered the grouper dinner, grilled and blackened. My side's were coleslaw and steamed vegetables. Hubby had the tuna sandwich with fries. I liked the seasoning on the grouper but it was a bit dry. Hubby ate the steamed vegetables and he liked them. We both had the coleslaw which was good. My hubby liked his tuna sandwich. I think our server should of stopped at our table more and she never told us her name so it didn't seem personalized service.

Great food, service, price and ambience !! Baskets are good, their happy hour is also worth it a try with 1/2 dozen oysters for $5 !! Good stuff!!

  • Todd M.

Kind of a little hole in the wall and a little "divey",but descent little place on a canal, seated by a nice hostess, and our waitress came and took our drink order, I had a yeung ling, my wife ordered a cranberry and vodka, Which confused the waitress, I guess because she didn't say vodka cranberry, and she let it be known, whatever, then took our order and promptly left , I had the grouper basket which is very good lightly breaded and fried to perfection, chunks of fish , tender and moist, delicious, my wife had the crab cakes , lightly fried with chunks of crab throughout, YUM!, food I give 4 stars, Kimberly the waitress I give 1, when she came back to check on us , I was ready for another beer, she left quickly again , like we were putting her out , so we didn't order anything else, and she came back and asked if" everything was good", never asked if we wanted anything else again, so I paid and was out of there, ,so all in all, good food, bad waitress.

Great beach food. Shrimp, oysters, clams, fish, crab and local Florida lobster. Everything was excellent, the food, the staff and the service. Certainly worth the stop and definitely on the "must return" list!

  • Deborah W.

We haven't eaten there in 2 years. Used to love it! This time it was terrible! The fish didn't taste fresh & the coating are the fries tasted nasty. Very disappointed!

    (2)
  • Krystal B.

Great place for lunch or dinner. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered from here: chicken sandwiches, seafood, etc. Request a table by the water! It's very nice and relaxing. You can see the fish swimming right near you.

  • David C.

We really do like the Fish House and go there quite often during the summer months. However, we went during season and peak dinner hours and the service could have been better. We didn't get our cocktails until 15 minutes later and got our appetizer after we finished our main meal (of course we rejected the appetizer). We didn't even get an apology. We will probably continue to go to the Fish House but never during season again.

    (3)
  • Hell L.

a very busy, crowded tavern, no restaurant at all because of plastic tableware, rotten tables and for lack of light or parasol outside. But food is fresh and delicious: raw oysters ($14 dz), tuna loin with seaweed ($13), grilled mahi/salmon/tuna ($17)

    (3)
  • James B.

Shrimp and Grits: excellent shrimp, tasteless grits. The cheese in the grits tasted like inferior American cheese, very little cheese flavor but a creamy texture. There was a flavorless sauce circling the totally unseasoned grits. A little salt & pepper would have helped. On another visit, we had peel and eat shrimp which were well seasoned and tasted fresh. We also shared a great piece of key lime pie.

    (3)
  • Charlie B.

Great service and reasonably priced food. It's a great casual place on the water with above average food and an amazing staff. Not the finest dining in the area but I was very happy with my entire meal? Happy hour specials are good too!

  • Les S.

This is a true Florida fish place. Mostly outdoor (or open porch) seating with some seating indoors. The fish and shrimp is excellent and well prepared. My daughter felt the stuffed shrimp was the best she has ever had. We went twice in four days and will most likely make this a regular stop in the future.

    (4)
  • Yanhua P.

Fish was fresh and portion was decent, although oysters were small for the price and some broken shell pieces stuck in the fresh oysters. Drinks a bit weak, non fried items a bit bland. Price is OK, service is ok, outdoor seating are nice.

  • Elaine P.

It was a chilly evening so our party of four sat on the screened-in porch. The restaurant's casual atmosphere and tasty food made this a thumbs up experience for all of us. We found the coconut shrimp appetizer had more of a coconut flavor than those at Coconut Jack's down the road. Entrée servings were generous and flavorful. Our choices included grilled grouper, blackened grouper tacos, and grilled shrimp. The non-fish eater among us declared his steak was quite good -- not great, but good, and prepared as ordered. My sweet potato fries were among the best I have ever had. "Rough cut" style as opposed to shoe string. The same could not be said for the hush puppies which were strange little "nuggets." Should have listened to other reviewers. All in all the Fish House Restaurant made for a casual meal for fish lovers -- and even for the one steak lover with us. Wish we would have discovered the Fish House before Coconut Jack's.

Great grouper Ruben!!!! Kids love this place super casual and never a bad meal. Highly recommend it for vacationers.

    (5)
  • Don S.

Great happy hour price on alcohol. The grouper tacos were actually pretty good. My wife got the scallops though and they were way over cooked. Not sure how that's possible because we got our food in about 5 minutes from ordering. Overall impression. Dirty but nice place to grab a drink and maybe an appetizer

So when I spent a total of three days in Bonita Springs a couple months back, I think I went to Fish House at least once a day, and possibly twice. To be honest, this isn't exactly the most thrilling place you'll ever eat, but it was the best option we could find in Bonita Springs, land that often serves more like the 65 plus crowd than 20somethings. They had many, many cheap fish sandwich options, and the blackened shrimp tacos were awesome. The happy hour special for peel and eat shrimp was just ridiculously cheap, and they were some seriously good shrimp. All the grouper options were worth the addition. And even the cole slaw was good. Beer was absurdly cheap (really.) and the service was super friendly. They have three seating areas: inside, near the bar; outside in a screened porch area, right up to the water; and fully outside, no screen. I'm not going to lie, the screened porch was by far the best. On our one screenless meal, I think we added up about 20 small bug bites. And it made us eat faster than I think we would have liked. Within the safety of the screen, you can enjoy the water, chuckle about people parking their boats to come in and eat, and avoid the AC that can be a little strong for those not so accustomed. It was about as Florida as I can imagine, and as we went to about a gadzillion fish shacks while on our Floridian sweep, I feel like I have the right to say that.

The smoked fish appetizer was perfect... to die for! The crab cakes were basically 99% crab & amazing!!! The service is polite & they can handle large groups with ease. Highly recommend

Fast & Friendly service. Excellent opportunity to enjoy the day and sit outside along the dock. Have been there many times, never a bad meal. I highly recommend the Bloody Mary's!

The Fish House is an easy to overlook location near the beach. Give it a try, it's a great place. The food is really good, and you can sit inside with a/c, on the screened patio, or outside on the water. Being there is just like walking into a place in Key West. Their happy hour runs every day from 3-6 pm, featuring 10 wings for $5' 1/2 pound shrimp for $5' and a dozen oysters for $6. The beers are ice cold, the rum runners are a specialty, and the margaritas are off the chart. The oysters are the best in the area, they are served clean and without bits of shell that we unfortunately find too often elsewhere. They Are as good as Key West. The fish tacos are the best I've had. The cole slaw is made in house and is tasty and crunchy. Their ahi is always cooked perfectly. Their fish is fresh. This isn't a place that serves all pre-packaged Cisco food. Fresh and home made is their style. Don't miss their coconut shrimp! The staff is young, energetic, hard working and happy. That's great to see. It's not pretentious. It's old Florida, on the water.

Don't let the plastic picnic ware and the dive atmosphere fool you - this is the place for great seafood. We started with the blue crab and shrimp dip and captains margaritas. My husband had the salmon and I had the crab cakes with hush puppies and cole slaw. Ended with key lime pie. ALL were excellent. Service was very friendly and FAST which surprised me because they were so busy. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Alcohol ( very strong! ) + appetizer + 2 dinners + dessert = $60. This is my new favorite place in Bonita.

You can't beat an outdoor seating, water front (canal) dining environment where you can feel comfortable enough to come in a bit sandy from the beach and get an ice cold beer. Whether it is post beach or casual dining at night with friends, the Fish House is always good. Typical Florida fare here- fish sandwich, baskets, and seafood- but they also through in the non-typical- sushi-grade seared ahi sandwich. Nice servers. Good happy hour specials. It can't be beat.

LOVE this place! We went there twice in one week on our vacation. The lobster tacos are to die for. Generous portion sizes for the price. Huge pieces of lobster, fresh pico and delicious homemade sauce. Wonderful laid back atmosphere. Best happy hour prices, too. $2.50 for a glass of wine!

We went there for the first time today, a Friday, for Happy Hour and an early dinner. Got a nice deck table right by the water, on the canal. Service was quick, friendly, and informative about the drinks and menu which has a lot of variety and decent prices. It's kind of a dive, but clean and comfortable. The HH deal is a good one, e.g. bottles of domestic beer for $1.25 and six oysters on the half shell with all the fixings for $3. The folks around the bar inside were going to town! We had a onion rings, lobster roll with cole slaw and stone crab, cold, with slaw. All were good - my wife's lobster roll was Maine-shore quality and the stone crab was sweet. Portions were quite good. The only negative was the nearby smokers; next time we'll eat on the porch. And we will be back!

Service was average but food was less than average. Used to be fresh grouper but no so anymore The Fish House used to be a great place to get fresh fish cooked to perfection. Something has happened because the fish was cooked in old grease and grouper was soaked in grease/oil and it was obvious the cooking oil needed to be changed days ago. The price was unreasonable for what we were served. Too bad a once great place to eat has turned into such a hole.

My tuna melt was amazing, but my husband's broiler plate was very flavorless and over cooked. The 1/2 doz raw oyster were sandy and had a fishy after taste even after we pour on the horseradish and hot sauce. It was kinda pricy for what we got, but the happy hour menu was really cheap. We would come again for the sandwiches and HH, but not for dinner.

I will definitely go back again. Waiter could of been better, but the other tables around us didn't appear to have a problem with theirs. Great location next to the water with outdoor seating. Rum runners were strong and the food was good.

This place is a bit of a dive, but we love it for the food, the service and the outdoor seating. I have tried about half the food on the huge menu, and haven't had a bad meal yet. The place is child-friendly, and my son loves seeing the fish and occasional manatee in the canal. We moved here a year ago from a big city on the west coast, so are used to good, fresh seafood - this easily became our go-to place for good food year-round. And for tourists, it's an authentic, relaxing Florida experience. Recommended.

Nice casual place with a view of the water on the "screened" patio. Someone had propped the screened door open so there were bugs inside the screened section. Not a good idea in Florida. They had good wings and steamed clams for their Happy Hour specials. Don't get the grouper Reuben. I couldn't tell what it was but the "grouper' had a very strong fish flavor. I love fish but this was way too strong for my liking. The fish was dried out and difficult to eat, even with all the slaw slathered on top of it.

Uber casual, lovely water views. We sat on the screened deck very comfortable, ample fans. This is not a gourmet restaurant, nor do they try to be. They do offer pub fare with a seafood spin. My good friend and I enjoyed our lunch with a couple of sandwiches: Seared tuna melt and seared tuna wrap. Generously portioned tuna. I'll skip the fries next time and opt for slaw instead. Service was terrific. Will definitely visit again, before it's "in-season".

This place is hit or miss yet I'm drawn there everytime I'm in town. You can't beat the Happy Hour specials, especially Sat. & Sun when they last all day. Some of the best oysters on the half shell you will get in the area. Happy Hour price $4.00 for 1/2 dozen !!! The hit or miss is sometimes the oysters are huge and other times not so much. On a recent visit the server told us the oysters were "farm raised" and that's why the difference in size. The place is super casual, great place to stop on your way back from the beach. I'm usually in the area late May/early June so I don't recommend sitting on the outdoor patio then.....way too many bugs- day or night. Menus are plastic coated and VERY worn, the utensils are plastic, the "napkins" consist of a roll of brown paper towels on the table. To sum up..it is a quirky little place that has ok food. The "Happy Hour" is a great value. If you want something a little more upscale just drive a bit further down Bonita Beach Rd and try Coconut Jacks.

The food is good. I went for lunch and had a tuna wrap, which was fresh ahi tuna seared in the wrap. There's nothing fancy about this place....feels more like a bar. If you are looking for a really casual place for seafood, I would say this place is worth trying at least once. They also have a cute outdoor seating area that overlooks one of the water channels / rivers. Nice place to sit when it isn't too hot out.

The wife and I ate at the Bonita Beach location last evening. We were a party of 8 and expected a long wait, but it was less than predicted. They have inside, porch and outside dining. I selected 1st available. Their bar menu includes craft beers and some specialty drinks. I had the paella, which was terrific except for one clam that tasted off, and my wife had the coconut shrimp basket. This was our fourth visit to one of the two locations. Hungry guests were still waiting for tables when we left ~ 8:30. If the prices were a little lower, I'd give it 5 stars.

Great food, nice view and we can go by boat. Service has always been prompt and friendly. Love the grouper Ruben sandwich with sweet potato fries. They not only have fried grouper but a "crispy" fried grouper which are both delicious, light and not greasy-perfectly cooked. My husbands mid rare tuna sandwich was totally delicious too. Good happy hour specials in the off season including low priced apps.

The coconut shrimp was great, crab cake very fresh and tuna bites cooked perectly. Loved the key lime pie and it was free with great service. Will be back for happy hour!!

Bad costumer service, the middle of summer they wouldn't put the umbrellas up because of the slight wind. Don't recommend the place if you're not feeling the sun.

Went a few days ago. Service was horrible...it took two hours from getting seated to getting our check. What has happened to this place? Our waitress was upset with her tables and gave us poor service. Food was average at best.

Flat out delicious seafood with water view ambiance for young and old. The flash fried shrimp are a 10 out of 10 along with the fries! If you need a place to just chilllax and enjoy the day don't miss this place... it's well worth it!

Very casual place with a perfect location near the beach. The service is wonderful, the food comes out fast and hot, and the food is DELICIOUS. The desserts are great too. Just a great place overall whether you're coming from the beach or just want some amazing food.

Good place for a drink and an appetizer had drinks and steamed clams. Enjoyable place to sit outside and enjoy the sunny. Server was switching shifts asked us to settle up before we were ready.

Causal place. Tons of options for sea food. Corn shrimp chowder was perfection. I will have to return to try more.

Fabulous meal. Great happy hour. Peel and eat shrimp were great. Skip the clams. Jerk spiced grouper was good. Garlic shrimp and linguine was delicious. Victor the waiter rocks. Highly recommended!

Good food. Better setting! Great place to eat outside or have a drink. I like the salads and the shrimp burgers. I think they only offer the shrimp burgers in off season but I may be mistaken. They also have boat access which is a plus for all of you boaters out there.

  • Amy J.

Great happy hour prices. Fish dip was average, potato skins very good. $2.50 happy hour beer with the view is worth it! Service was poor considering we were the only ones there but I would come back for happy hour.

Just OK. Not impressed, I had the Mahi Tacos and I can't remember what the rest of the family had.

Good chowder. Ordered and enjoyed the coconut shrimp and grouper baskets, but the service was terrible. Only go if you have patience and no where else to be that night.

Not a fish person, but went with friends who enjoy fishy food. Not much of a selection for us non-fish lovers. Ended up with a Caesar salad; nothing to write home about. Pina Colada was excellent.

This was our first time there, on vacation with the family. The fish was overcooked and smelled fishy. I ordered a mai tai, one of their specialty drinks, and it was watered down. The waitress was not friendly and dry. I don't recommend this restaurant.

Great place for lunch or dinner. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered from here: chicken sandwiches, seafood, etc. Request a table by the water! It's very nice and relaxing. You can see the fish swimming right near you.

We haven't eaten there in 2 years. Used to love it! This time it was terrible! The fish didn't taste fresh & the coating are the fries tasted nasty. Very disappointed!

  • Hell L.

a very busy, crowded tavern, no restaurant at all because of plastic tableware, rotten tables and for lack of light or parasol outside.

  • Charlie B.

Great service and reasonably priced food. It's a great casual place on the water with above average food and an amazing staff. Not the finest dining in the area but I was very happy with my entire meal? Happy hour specials are good too!

  • Robin T.

  • Briana R.

  • Yanhua P.

Fish was fresh and portion was decent, although oysters were small for the price and some broken shell pieces stuck in the fresh oysters. Drinks a bit weak, non fried items a bit bland. Price is OK, service is ok, outdoor seating are nice.

  • Amy L.
